Reflecting the Designer on Blogger
It’s been a long time in coming, but I recently transferred my Blogger Scrapbook Blog over to a new blog Reflecting the Designer. This blogspot blog is designed to give tips on working specifically with Blogger, shows recent Blogspot projects, provide free graphics, and gives more information about the design services I offer specifically for Blogspot blogs. Below is the redesign I did for this site and some more information about it.
I use Artisteer as the base for my sites, but I always do a lot of tweaking to make them more unique and useful. This particular site didn’t require a lot of tweaking, but a few things I did were to:
- Added an animated gif image to the header. Artisteer does not allow this, so I simply added a div to the header and set the styling in the css.
- Added some linked images to the header with hover effects (design services and portfolio pages).
- Added a background image to the sidebar titles.
- Added a customized Login/Dashboard button and a Back to Top button.
To find out how to implement the same ideas on your own blog, make sure to check out Reflecting the Designer on Blogspot and choose from the tip categories in the right hand column.
