What’s In Store!

I’ve been busy working on some websites as well as some print design work for some clients that I will hopefully be able to post soon. However, the biggest thing I’m working on (besides real life responsibilities) is a free theme that I’m ~~going to be making available soon!~~ *This is now available for download!* You can view the theme in progress on my testing platform. It’s still has a few more additions to make before it’s posted. It will include multiple block styles as well as a widget space covering the entire header and a widget banner space beneath the menu. What will this allow you to do? Combined with a plugin such as widget logic, It will give you the ease of adding a slider to your header (or multiple sliders to different pages), a different header image for each page, social icons or other widgets to individual pages, or a combination of all of those just with the header feature alone!

The banner below the menu is perfect for ad space, and of course there will also be the standard sidebar, above post, below post, and footer widget spaces, too. Each of the widgets spaces will have a drop down option to choose from 4 different styling options.

All of the usual free goodies are included such as WordPress Custom Menus, Easy default settings for thumbnail images, the ability to hide the site, page, or post titles with simple check boxes, a single column page template included, and much more.

I’m also going to be including a few graphics that can be used within the header as an example. This theme will be a professional grunge look that is general enough to cover any style yet unique enough to stand apart from other themes. Of course, you can always hire me to add custom graphics to really make it your own, and you’ll still end up spending about a 10th of what you’d pay somewhere for a custom web design.

I’m debating on whether to make this into a contest and offer a custom header design for the winner, but am not sure. So, stay posted, and I hope to have the new theme available within a week!
