Updating Your Logo
Even though your logo might have a great ring to it, an outdated image can really take a toll on its potential to grab potential customers. Your company logo should be an accurate reflection of who you are and what you do. Below are just three of before and after shots from some recent summer design projects. These were both logo and WP Theme projects which are always my favorite.
Sports Life
Kathy from SportsLife.me is working on putting together a portal for sports fans/players to set up their own blogs. I helped her to set up a basic theme with some different headers depending upon the sport being played, but the biggest project was giving them a logo that could tie everything together. Below is the before and after shots. The middle image is used in the “mother site” while the bottom image is faded into the background of the sports templates that people use for their personal sports pages.
Some concepts used in this design were to feature that nice strong bold feel of sports along with the magazine style flare that highlights all three words in this logo concept.
Amanda Carroll
Amanda is a busy mom of three as well as a radio talk show host who is going to be launching into more writing. She needed to update her blog to give it a more professional web presence as well as have her branding incorporated. I kept the same basic concept and colors of her original logo but gave it an updated feel with modern fonts, some texture with an inner shadow and gradient, as well as a nice drop shadow for the butterfly to really give it wings.
My Fabulous VA
Rebekah is my most recent client, and she helps people to set up and manage membership sites. She had worked with a previous designer who gave her the logo below, but it still didn’t give her the professional, crisp, and modern style that she needed. Since we wanted to be sure that her logo and theme looked professional and appealed to both genders, we scrapped the purple pink in favor of shades of blue and green. She also wanted some type of an image that she could use independently to reflect what she does. Networking the globe seemed like the perfect fit, and adding the script font still kept a little bit of femininity.
I have a couple more projects on the docket these next few weeks, but should be ready to accept some new business mid September. Stay posted for details.
